Looking closely at subjects in portraiture can reveal details which you would not normally notice. Hands are so expressive I can understand why so may artists have drawn, painted and photographed them.

Small pockets of light, this could be New York…..but it’s Melbourne. Car parks for me have some of the best views for those dense city night shots.

This photograph was taken at 12am  - again, I like the dramatic contrast of light during this time of day.

Morning light especially in Melbourne winter has a softness. The blurry raindrops, city lights and colours in the sky make morning photos really unique.

I have always liked photographing portraits from the back. This may seem strange but I like to leave the subjects identity to the viewers imagination….

Photographing someones workspace is so unique, looking at there everyday objects under the magnifying glass. This studio located in The Nicholas Building Melbourne is where Jeweler Jen Martin works.

Whenever I take photos in a public place I always feel self conscious, what surprises me every time I take photos at Flinders Street is how immune commuters are to the camera.This morning at 6am the golden light and shadows created incredible contrasts.

Watching Chef’s cook has always been mesmerizing to me. Every morning Fabrice would have his coffee in the same way – only drinking half before going cold. The spoon never leaving the cup and the croissants always on time.

This image ‘out of the dark’ was taken at 6.30am in Melbourne on a cold winters morning. The photos were completely spontaneous but I took around 30, the rain and light were amazing. 

Its strange the things you photograph sometimes, the good and bad its life. Quirky everyday life.
