Degraves is always an interesting site to photograph there is always something going on here. Most people rush past the windows (Platform Artist Group has a series of exhibitions here regularly showcasing artists work). I walk past deliberately on route to look at what’s in the windows.

Looking closely at subjects in portraiture can reveal details which you would not normally notice. Hands are so expressive , I can understand why so may artists have photographed them for years.

I have always liked photographing portraits from the back. This may seem strange but I like to leave the subjects identity to the viewers imagination….

As part of a food series 12 months ago I photographed chefs, waitresses, food critics and friends who all love food! In this particular photo Lalia and I were just playing with our props.I really like simple photos. The less is more approach.

Photographing someones workspace is so unique, looking at there everyday objects under the magnifying glass. This studio located in The Nicholas Building Melbourne is where Jeweler Jen Martin works.
